This is the first entry into my Blog for the blogger.com. I have had my own web site for some time now. I have enjoyed communicating through my web site and promoting my book and other ventures. As President of Wayman Communications I design web sites for businesses as well as write and publish humorist materials. My first book was published recently through Tate Publishing and I am now working on a second humorist bathroom reader.
I have recently created a page on MY SPACE which I have really enjoyed. I got interested in this through my teenage exchange student from Germany, Andy. MY SPACE seems to be "the place to go while on the web" for young people throughout the country. I have been able to network and expand my audience through the pages of MY SPACE.
I look forward to opening up another chapter in my communication adventure, as a Blogger. Here I plan to focus on political commentary which is my first love. I will add a humorist twist when possible, because after all I am a published writer of comedy!
I have been involved in politics since I was 16 years old in the Teenage Republican Club in my home town. I started to work for my first political campaign for Ron Summers in Benton, Illinois. Ron was a candidate for Sheriff of Franklin County. He lost the election, but through him I became active in Republican politics and eventually served as President of the Franklin County Young Republicans, President of the SIU College Republicans and Precinct Committeeman.
I have been know over the years for my conservative political views. I have been a big fan of President Nixon and President Reagan. I was able to meet them both several times and even received an hour private audience with Nixon at his home in San Clemente after he left office. I came to Springfield, Illinois in 1984 working for then Secretary of State Jim Edgar. Edgar later became Illinois Governor.
I believe that government should be limited. I believe that the basic role of government is to provide for our national defense. In recent years, I have been convinced that state government in Illinois is extremely corrupt and nearly everyone who is in office should be thrown out! We should start all over and elect ordinary citizens for public office, especially for the state legislature. These positions should be part time gigs and not full time ventures. People should serve not for the money or power, but to make a difference in the community.
Well, that is all for now, but much more will follow as I share my views.
